any suggestions on how to make the shake taste better?

I use nut butter, frozen fruitu and unsweeten almond milk, but it still tastes so chalky and bland.

Hi, my son has become a great shake maker and I think we found that if you use the roasted unsalted almond butter instead of the raw almond butter it has less of a chalky taste.  Also, are you using cashew butter--it was a little grainy tasting for me.  If you use a mixture of fruit it helps--banana and cherry is good.  He says you always have to use a sweet fruit to offset the unsweetened milk.  He usually uses a few strawberries to help sweeten the shake and offset any berries that might not be naturally sweet.  I personally think it is the flax seed that gives it a grainy taste but once you get the right combo it tastes great.  Mama Foodie
