I tried to find flax and borage oil together and the only one I could find was Barleans Flax, borage, & fish oil with lemon , so I bought it. Yuck! It sure made the Ultrashake taste nasty. So I opted for capsules--hope that's ok. Itried about 5 different health food shops and supermarkets. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem.  I can only find the flax oil with linegans.  How important is the borage piece?

All I could find were the capsules, too.  I got the Borage and Flax oil by Spectrum from Whole Foods.

When are you supposed to take it?  Is it with every Ultrashake or just the morning one? ....still so new to this.

Just the morning one... check the checklist in the guide and it will tell you to omit the flax seed and oil for the other shakes.

Good Morning:

 

Our great nutritionist, Kathie, has advised that you may want to try searching and ordering online as there are many companies who make the combination oil.  If not, go ahead and use the flaxseed oil capsules for now, but when you can, substitute with the combination oil - the difference is in the fatty acids provided (borage oil provides GLA).

I found it!  Vitamin Shoppe, which is -- I think -- a national chain had Spectrum Flax Borage Oil.  Hurrah!

Not to be heretical, but I use Evening Primrose Oil instead of the Borage.  It is a source of GLA (gamma linolenic acid) which is less concentrated in the primrose than the borage.  After you finish the program you might research if you want to try these capsules instead.

This may be a moot point by now-I just read these posts. I initially could only find Barlean's Flax/borage oil ("Omega Twin") in capsule form, so for the first couple of weeks I would take three capsules with my morning shake. I've since found the Barleans Omega Twin in the refrigerated section of Whole Foods. It's a dark brown plastic bottelwith "Omega Twin" on a green background on part of the label. It doesn't affect the taste of the shake too much. (Yuck. I imagine fish oil would.)

I know this thread is old... but worth a bump for others to see...

I just joined the site and was browsing this discussion. I was able to find the Barlean's Omega Twin in stock at one health food store, another said they'd order it for me...

But the best price is on vitacost.com ...  I also take the Ester-C powder for my morning vitamin C and that's on there at a great
price as well.

I, too, couldn't find the Flax Borage Oil liquid.

I am taking 5 Spectrum Flax Borage Oil caps with my morning Ultrashake.  Is this the right amount to take?

Also, I've heard that the liquid tastes nasty, so can I continue to take the caps on the Ultrasimplediet?

I found the liquid kind at whole foods, the brand that I bought is Health form the sun.

 It is expeller pressed flax, borage, and evening primrose oil.

Does not effect the tast of the shake.

The Barlean's I got at Whole Foods has OMEGA TWIN as the largest words on the label. Ingredients:  Flaxseed Oil; Borage Seed Oil; flaxseed particulate containing SDG lignan.  Washington DC Metro area/(Silver Spring MD).  I'm sure it's the right thing.  (Haven't used it yet, so can't comment on taste.  But there's no fish oil in it -- which I already take separately.)
