I am training for a triathlon but beginning the diet on Sunday.  Does anyone have any experience with exercise and the diet?  It seems like it would not be enough food to sustain very strenuous or endurance types of activities.  Thanks.

I just posted this same question on a different section.  My wife and I are on day 7.  It has been good but we don't have the energy to do our normal workout.  Yesterday, on day 6, we went out for a round of golf and got exhausted just dong that!  I think some modifications are necessary in order to be able to do more than 30 min moderate training a day.  I hope someone will post some suggestions.

My boyfriend and I also train with rigorous exercise about 3 hours per week in martial arts classes. We love them and don't want to stop but I fear this won't be enough protein for us to endure our regular class. If anyone knows about this please respond. Thanks!

This week we are going to try adding protein at lunch, while keeping it at dinner.  We'll see if this gives us enough energy to do our normal routines and let you know.  After thinking more about the original question, if it we us we would NOT start this plan a week before a triathalon.  But the beneifts of the plan are enough that you should consider starting it on a less intense week.

My boyfriend seems kind of week. Don't men need more protein especially if we work out regularly? I just feel bad for him. I feel super energized though. I'm amazed!!!

Well I feel a lot better this week.  Yesterday I had plenty of engergy for a killer squash game.  I do think the extra protein helps.  But also remember part of the fatige is the detox thing going on.  It will pass. Also, if you make it through the first week, go to the Phase I diets in the Ultrametabolism cookbook.  We're doing that and now seem to have a lot more energy this week.
