Hi Kathie,

Thanks for letting me know.  It is a pretty tasty mix; I don't even miss the breadcrumbs.  lol

Could you use ground chicken

Could you use ground chicken instead?  I don't much care for ground turkey.

Don't see why not

Catowner,

I would think ground chicken would be fine.  If you try it, please let me know how it works.  I like ground chicken, too.

Someone needs to take meatless out of the special considerations section. Turkey is a meat. :-)

The book I have says no night shades in the detox.  Has this changed?

My book also says no eggs.  Do I have an old edition?

Tomato etc for detox?

This sounds delicious, but I'm curious about the tomato juice, egg, ground pepper and red pepper, which are on the list to avoid during detox - ?
Jann

It isn't for detox

Hi:

When this recipe was first posted, the site was young.  I'm not sure how things were posted incorrectly, but it obviously needs to be edited.  Meatloaf is definitely not meatless!  lol  And, you're right, eggs, tomato and pepper are not allowed on detox.

I think all of the recipes posted early on probably should be re-evaluated for inaccuracies.

I hope you enjoy this meatloaf when you're at the point in the program where you can have it.

Cat

That makes sense!

Thanks for the clarification - can you (or the author) go back and edit any recipes that you've posted to make the corrections?  I look forward to trying it.

Day 4 - so far so good!   It helps that I love veggies, and also that I was totally mentally ready to do this - I've felt awful for so long and knew I had to do something.   Glad I saw the article in First Magazine and then researched to find the book, which give much more info.   The article talks about papaya and pineapple that heal the gut, but I don't see it mentioned in the book.   Just had a delicious stir-fry of turnip, cauliflower, broccoli, green cabbage, shallots, mushrooms and carrots over the rice for lunch!
