  • "I was absolutely shocked that I lost that much weight ..."

I had felt mentally and spiritually "stuck" for several years. I'm 5' 9" tall and have a lean frame, but my weight was up to 140 pounds. I was struggling with anxiety, mild depression, lethargy, and high blood pressure. And my life was a series of addictions ...

Each morning -- 2-3 cups of coffee. A healthy breakfast was followed with cravings for sweets or junk. Every night I'd have a giant glass of wine and an hour later -- a bowl of ice cream. The next day it would start all over again. Whenever I tried to give up any of those things I would fail. I felt like a loser with no control. Now I see that it wasn't just my "will" that was the problem.

I knew my regular doctor would just want to "up" all of my meds if I went to see him. So I went to visit a doctor of integrative medicine she suggested that I begin by going on The UltraSimple Diet.

During the preparation week, before the formal diet even began, I noticed huge changes. I felt more solid, centered, and energetic—even euphoric! Though I was skeptical of the program when I started, by the time it was over I lost 10 pounds! I now weight 129-130. I was absolutely shocked that I lost that much weight!

We live our lives putting bad gas into our gas tank. Our bodies are bombarded with bad food. If we listen to our body our bodies they will tell us what we really need -- but first we have to clean them out. That’s what The UltraSimple Diet helps you do.

  • "On the program I lost 8 pounds. Rather than eating something I shouldn't and then worrying about whether or not it will cause me to gain weight, I've become convinced that I do not want to put unhealthy things in my body."

I was gaining weight and was unable to control my cravings for sugar. I was open to trying just about anything. So when I found The UltraSimple Diet. I jumped at the chance.

On the program I lost 8 pounds, and have sustained my healthy eating habits for some time now. Rather than eating something I shouldn't and then worrying about whether or not it will cause me to gain weight, I've become convinced that I do not want to put unhealthy things in my body.

I can't say that other things didn't work in the past, but the focus was different. Other programs are more about keeping the weight off versus maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The emphasis with The UltraSimple Diet is the quality of what you eat. My mentality about food has changed. I don’t have that occasional ice cream cone anymore—not because I'd be breaking my "diet," but because I don't want to throw my body out of balance.

This represents an important shift in the way I think about my eating and how it affects my body ...

  • "After 1 week on the program I lost 7 pounds, 2.5 inches off my waist, and 2 inches off my hips. Now I feel like I have the control I need to meet my goals and maintain them!"

Before I found The UltraSimple Diet I was having difficulty getting control of weight gain and the depression and low self-esteem that generally goes with it. I had tried many to lose weight many times with other plans and failed. I’d lose some weight, then gain it back again. A common story ...

However, I never approached the problem by trying to discover if some of the foods I was eating were actually sabotaging my weight loss efforts. It never occurred to me that something in my diet was triggering cravings and consequently the fat suit I've been wearing. That's what it feels like to me, a fat suit that I wish I could just step out of because it is so uncomfortable.

After reading The Ultra Simple Diet I was excited to learn what I was consuming that was contributing to my problems. Do I have a food allergy that I am not aware of? Is something that I'm eating contributing to my cravings and inability to get control of my weight?

After one week on the enhanced program I lost 7 pounds, 2.5 inches off my waist, and 2 inches off my hips ...

One evening after the 7-day program was finished; I added some shredded mild cheddar cheese on a dish. That was the first dairy product I reintroduced. The next morning I woke with what felt like a large rock in my stomach. So I’ve eliminated dairy from my diet and I continue to lose weight. I’ve got more to go but it’s been a month since starting the plan and my waist is down to 34 inches! My energy is better, my clothes fit better and I feel like I have the control I need to meet my goals and maintain them!

I recommend The Ultra Simple Diet to everyone, whether you need to lose weight or not. So many people I talk with take medication for digestive problems of one kind or another or they have high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Here is what I would say to them:

Consider refining your food intake for one week with unprocessed, fresh foods. Eliminate the usual allergens and additives to refresh your system. With more appropriate food choices and exercise I believe that many of the physical ailments we suffer could be eliminated. It's an easy way to change your life!

  • "I’ve lost 10 pounds in less than three weeks, and I’m not hungry!"

I’m overweight, have hypothyroidism, and had gestational diabetes. I knew I was a high risk candidate for type 2 diabetes if I didn’t lose the weight, so I had to try something ...

First I went on Atkins. That worked ... for a while. I eventually gained back every pound I lost, and that program just didn’t make sense to me. I mean, come on, it’s okay to eat bacon, but you can’t eat fruit? That can’t be right.

When I saw Dr. Hyman on PBS I thought, "This makes sense!" and was very excited to learn more. So I went out and purchased a copy of The UltraSimple Diet right away.

During the prep week I lost 3 pounds and felt much more comfortable in my clothes. On the actual program I lost an additional 4 more. At this stage, I've lost 10 pounds in less than three weeks, and I’m not hungry!

As an unexpected bonus, my husband decided to do the program with me, and in two weeks, he's lost 12 pounds. It's great to have a buddy, since we make a blender of shakes together in the morning, and he makes the vegetable broth twice a week!

I think it’s too soon to tell whether this will be my way of eating for the rest of my life, but since it makes sense to me, is working, tastes good, and involves no counting carbs or calories, I think I can do this forever.

  • “I lost 6 lbs. during the preparation week and another 7 during the weeklong program, for a total of 13 lbs.! I feel much less bloated and inflamed and my body feels stronger…”

I was 40 lbs over weight, had massive food cravings, excessive hunger, night and binge eating, allergies, insomnia, and a general feeling of being unwell. I seriously needed a change …

That’s when I first heard about The UltraSimple Diet. I knew the science behind Dr. Hyman’s claims was sound, but was a little doubtful in my ability to meet the challenge …

It turned out to be easier and more powerful than I ever expected. I lost 6 lbs. during the preparation week and another 7 during the weeklong program, for a total of 13 lbs.! I feel much less bloated and inflamed and my body feels stronger. My mind is clearer, my sight has improved, and I am free from cravings.
I think Dr. Hyman's tools make the program work. The guide, journaling, and other online tools -- especially the recipes -- were a goldmine. The way he broke each day down into manageable segments worked well for keeping me on track. And the minimal exercise was a good way for me to ease into movement after years of no physical activity.

The fact that Dr. Hyman focuses on reclaiming your health, not just fat loss, makes this program a unique experience. But the biggest kicker for me is that it only took two weeks to feel radical changes in my body. Thirteen pounds of toxicity gone and my health score improved as well. It only took these 14 days to truly grasp the importance of eating healthy. Anyone can commit to 14 days, and by making that small investment, a lifetime of change can begin.

Now I feel more confident that I can maintain a healthy lifestyle and am ready to face new challenges. I have realized I value my health and want to maintain the progress.
